I sit down with business owners and talk through their operational challenges. We figure out what they want to know about their businesses to make them run better, what they need to know to be sure they are profitable, what their staff needs to know and do better. We analyze the owners’ own strengths and weaknesses and determine what they can do themselves and what they are better off hiring someone else to do. We then set up the systems and framework for moving forward. Sometimes I might design a solution with the intent that the owner or an employee will take it over, sometimes we will decide that I will continue to be involved, sometimes we may decide that someone else from the outside should be brought in. It’s a process and the keys to my involvement are my professional experience and my ability to coach the owner through that process.
